What is the root chakra? It’s your first and most important energy center, and it’s located at the base of your spine. It’s called “root” because it grounds you to life on Earth.
Your root chakra is associated with self-preservation, security, survival instinct, sensuality, sexuality, and procreation.
Let’s find out how the root chakra works, what causes a malfunctioning root chakra, and what you can do to enhance its strength!

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOUR ROOT CHAKRA IS OUT OF BALANCE?
When this chakra isn’t active enough or balanced correctly, we can experience a number of difficulties: insecurity about finances or safety; a feeling that our needs are never met; being too materialistic; an inability to set boundaries between oneself and others; sexual dysfunction; addictions (to drugs or alcohol for example).
If your root chakra is blocked or not working well, then there may be a sense of feeling “unseen” and out-of-touch with what’s going on around you. Your mental clarity will decrease as well as any physical ailments that are related to being ungrounded such as aches and pains in various parts of the body. You also might find yourself overreacting easily because you’re unable to ground down when emotions come up – like anger for example.

In addition, its rich woodsy aroma will also create an uplifting sensation as well as provide emotional support when times are tough.
