USES AND BENEFITS OF COCONUT OIL

  • anticancer: A study shows that certain compounds in coconut oil have anticancer efficacy and may be used for the treatment of cancer, especially liver and oral cancer.
  • antifungal: It can be used as a natural treatment for yeast infections and candida as well as athlete’s foot and jock itch all of which are caused by fungus.
  • thyroid stimulation: A high amount of (healthy) saturated fat, lauric acid, and medium chain fatty acids in coconut oil makes it a highly useful source of energy for the body, and its specific fat balance may be beneficial for hypothyroidism. In the case of hyperthyroidism consuming coconut oil is not advised as it can increase the already high metabolism. If you suffer from any thyroid imbalances, consult your physician before introducing coconut oil into your diet.
